Jean-Baptiste Auvray is a designer, interior architect and scenographer who lives between Paris and Annecy. With an exceptional eye for detail, Jean‑Baptiste understands how to translate the concept behind a brand, a Maison or a person, into the design of objects and spaces. His experience of both grand architecture and subtle redesigns make him comfortable with projects of any scale, faithfully ensuring that the overall vision is reflected in even the smallest details.
To ensure that a brand’s vision is faithfully reflected in the creative process, Jean‑Baptiste oversees each project’s artistic direction. Key to this is his ability to identify the materials or the savoir-faire that will effectively transform a concept into reality.
Faire collaborates with a network of exceptional craftspeople who are equipped to tackle these challenges. They share a profound and intrinsic understanding of their respective crafts and take pride in applying their work in new and original ways.
From 2001 to 2010, Jean‑Baptiste Auvray worked with Patrick Jouin’s design agency, where he took interior furniture designs from concept to completion collaborating with manufacturers such as Cassina and Kartell. He also designed street furniture at JCDecaux and worked with luxury brands such as Puiforcat, G.H.Mumm, Lancôme and the chef Alain Ducasse.
In 2010, Jean‑Baptiste Auvray founded the Auvray Agency in Paris and Annecy with the aim of combining the most ambitious expertise with sensitive design ideals based on the connections between materials and people. He currently designs sets and exhibitions for the global jewellery brand Maison Van Cleef & Arpels.
Jean‑Baptiste Auvray teaches interior design at the prestigious Camondo School, Les Arts Décoratifs, Paris.
